Video #7 - The Dethroning of King Me

In Psalm 115:1, David writes, “Not to (me), O LORD, not to (me) but to your name give glory, for the sake of your steadfast love and your faithfulness.” 

Let me ask you this all-important question.  What is your real motive for finding freedom from bondage to sexual impurity?  Are you discovering that you have been engaged in this battle with the wrong intent and for the wrong reasons?  Can you begin to understand WHY you’ve been losing this battle?  Can you see how important it is that your motivation must be to honor and glorify God in everything, including this particular battle? 

There is great joy “in (God’s) strength.  How great is (our) joy in the victories (God) gives” (Psa. 21:2).  Your victory over this three-headed dragon known as lust, pornography and masturbation totally “depends on God; he is (your) mighty rock, (your) refuge” (Psa. 62:7).  To know real, lasting victory, you need to cry out as David did - “Help (me), O God (my) Savior, for the glory of your name; deliver (me) and forgive (my sin) for your name’s sake” (Psa. 79:9).  “For the sake of your name, O LORD, forgive my iniquity, though it is great” (Psa. 25:11).

Do you know what time it is?  No, I’m not referring to the clock on your wall or the watch on your wrist.  I’m talking about this specific time in your life.  I’m talking about today, right here, right now.  We desperately need to understand “the present time.  The hour has come for you to wake up from your slumber, because your salvation is nearer now than when you first believed” (Rom. 13:11). 

Guys  ...  I am laying the gauntlet down before you.  I challenge you - just as Paul did in 1 Cor. 15:34 - to “come back to your senses as you ought, and stop sinning.” 
... I dare you to “not be like others, who are asleep, but … be alert and self-controlled” (1 Thes. 5:6). 
... I urge you, “whether you eat, or drink, or whatever you do, do it all for the glory of God” (1 Cor. 10:31). 

... And guys, I assure you, with God as your focus, with the glory of God as the goal of your heart, you can place your foot on the head of that slain dragon and cry out as the Apostle Paul did - “I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith” (1 Tim. 4:7).
